This is by far the best keyboard i have ever owned, as every key is amazingly satisfying to click, without a ludicrous asking price, as i think you get your money’s worth. The huntsman elite is obviously the keyboard people are gonna compare, and this keyboard is without a doubt better for the price, with usb and audio passthrough, an extremely durable chassis, and most importantly a fantastic, satisfying typing experience with the razer green switches. The wristwrest is not the absolute best compared to others like the one included on the ornata, as it’s not as big or cushioned, but it’s still a fantastic wristrest. Overall even compared to other notable competitors like the corsair k95, in my opinion if you are a gamer/typist who enjoys a simple yet satisfying reassuring click this keyboard will not disappoint. Also while i’m at it i want to share that i think these are better than cherry mx blues, as these are in my opinion better for gaming, you can look up the specs of both keys to compare but these keys are clearly the two most similar. I had a razer ornata before this keyboard which was a very respectable keyboard for typing and speed, but i wanted to get a mechanical, and this checked all the boxes. My only real gripe with this keyboard is ease of use, even though more advanced users familiar with razers software and function layout, some new people will easily get confused and won’t be able to get the most functionality out of their brand new keyboard. Overall if you can get this keyboard on sale it would be an absolute steal, but i could easily recommend it at retail price as well. If you want the keyboard, this one will most likely do it for you. I have had this keyboard for about a month or so now with zero issues.
I expect greatness for the price and was let down. Keyboard does very few things right. The deal breaker for me was needing to login to a buggy software program in order to switch up the rgb. The problems dont stop there though. My 4 year old k95 runs circles around this keyboard and corsair software aint that great either. Its sad becuase i really like razer products but this one is no good.
I was looking for a tactile, backlit keyboard to type my dissertation and this fit the bill. I am not a gamer, but i have an under-desk keyboard shelf that makes it difficult to see the keys when i am typing. I originally purchased a corsair strafe rgb mk2, but i spent half the evening trying to get it configured – ms windows could not recognize the usb ports that it was plugged into. I returned it and decided to get this keyboard after seeing how much my daughter enjoyed hers, who is a gamer. It took me less than ten minutes to plug it in, download the synapse 3 software, and type this review. I type fast and like the fact that my fingers don’t slip all over these keys. The wrist rest is very comfortable, which attaches by a magnet to prevent slippage, and is very ergonomic. I like how easy the synapse 3 dashboard is to use, and easily configured the keyboard with my favorite color combinations. I reviews that complained about incompatibility with other computers that did not have the synapse 3 dashboard downloaded onto them, but that is not an issue with me. I use garmin products that require similar compatibility with dashboard software, for example, and i find that feature very convenient.
I have some experience with razer blackwidow tournament edition with green switches, but the clicky sound annoyed my wife, so i decided to buy this keyboard, because of its yellow silent switches and media keys. I like this keyboard, it looks very solid, durable, heavy a bit, but, i prefer interpret it as advantage. Back-light is perfect, i spent a lot of time enjoying it. Razer synapse 3 is better than previous version, it is more user-friendly. I had some problems with delivery, but it is common problem for my country, keyboard was delivered from usa to russia faster than from the upc post office to me, but i think it is upc problems .
That’s what i do daily for hours and hours. Before i got the blackwidow elite (orange switches), i never looked forward to using the keyboard — that all changed once this bad boy arrived. It’s by far the best computer keyboard i’ve ever owned. Based on the quality of this thing, the blackwidow elite will probably be the last keyboard i’ll ever buy. Pro:look and feel — the keyboard looks great, has a ‘weight’ which speaks to its quality and of course, the ability to customize its lighting easily via razer synapse is nice. It also comes with a foam ‘pleather’ wrist pad which feels very nice during my long typing sessions. It’s connected to the keyboard via a magnet which is a nice touch. Performance — typing on the keyboard is a true joy. I don’t like messing around with batteries and bluetooth for my keyboard and mouse as there are just too many things that can go wrong at the wrong time.
